We have received reports of two attempted break-ins which both occurred in a single complex on Half Moon Bay road around 10:00 pm on April 1, 2010. In each case the perpetrator seems to have been scared off after realizing people were at home in the apartments. RUSVM Security arrived within 15 minutes of the incident. However, according to our reports, the police didn’t come to investigate until the following morning.
One report provides the basic details:
[A]t around 950PM a few men begin pointing their flash lights in our bedroom. My fiancee was home alone at the time. She quickly ran to the front door to make sure it was locked. She says they pointed their lights at her again while she was in the living room through the window.
Both reports inform of the delay in police action:
I believe there were multiple reports of break-ins in the area last night. Ross Security responded promptly. Multiple calls were made to the Frigate Bay police station with NO ANSWER, even with Ross Security calling.
One informer also tells us that all four apartments in this apartment complex were broken into over the December break, and that all residents of the complex will be moving out at the end of the spring semester. It is a gated white building on Half Moon Bay road.
